Several counties throughout the State of Alabama are mandatory mediation counties. This is because of the large number of cases on the Court’s docket and the time it takes a case to be heard in a trial. Mediation involves a neutral party known as a mediator who will work with your attorney and the opposing attorney in order to settle any issues involved prior to proceeding to a trial. Mediations can take place either at the courthouse or through a private mediation.
